"Korvai" is a challenging rhythmic etude. It incorporates all the important Konnakol figures in three rounds. I learned this piece from Ramesh in 2006 and haven't forgotten it since. This Korvai is fun! Dive into the depths of Indian rhythms with us as you learn this piece. You won't regret it; your rhythmic confidence will be enhanced, as will your accuracy and feel for polyrhythms. Several of these appear in this piece: 3 against 2, 5 against 4, 6 against 4, and 7 against 4. With the help of the Indian syllables, you'll be able to execute these figures and significantly improve your rhythmic skills.
